NGM may be used if clear in context but remember that for most of
            our readers the initials may not be clear: NGM Korean Edition
The magazine's title, National Geographic, should be in roman when
            it appears in a block of italic type.

3. Bylines of National Geographic Magazine Staff

Starting with the January 2009 issue, National Geographic no longer identifies NGM staff in bylines; this information is now included in the author/photographer note for each article.



  Taglines are generally used for text of one page or less. If text appears on more than one page, use a byline. Taglines on text in the feature well are preceded by a dash:

            Patricia Edmonds 
Initials may be used for the tagline if the same person writes more than one piece on a departments page:

            For art credits, use colon

5. References to Staff in Text
In general capitalize formal titles from Editor through Senior Writer when used before the name; lowercase when used as a job description or in apposition (except for Editor, which is always capped).
